No Love Lost

No love lost, no love found.
Or so they say, I didn’t lose you, at first but I found you.
I cherished you, gave you my heart and my soul,
But I guess you found my ‘act’ getting old.
You held my heart the first day we met,
Just one simple smile, took away my breath.
You gave me your trust, I held it tight,
I had it all planned out, me plus you, OUR house OUR car, giving life to a beautiful daughter with her “mother’s” eyes.
As days went by I watched my like evolve, to a love that made me a slave to you,
To a love that made me surrender to your every request, to a love that drained me of love for everyone else. Life as I knew it changed orbit and you, were the sun.
But I wasn’t just giving, I gained too. You made it look so easy to love me for me, even with the complexity I hold.
Every kiss told a tale, each heart beat whispered your name. I held you tight not wanting to let go ‘cause in my arms was love, the only love I’d come to know.
Discontent, despair (funny how these start with the letter that starts your name) invaded our little universe and the sun became just a flame.
But I know you know I gave us my all and I know you gave us just the same.
But baby just know you are my love lost, love found.
As cliché as this may sound,
As long as you are happy so am I, our memories will never die.

~~I wrote this poem on behalf of an ex... interpret it~~
